Traditional Slate Frame
Traditional Tapestry Frame is a Slate frame with webbing. Fabric can be tensioned with the wooden pegs to push the bars apart so to make it easier, they can be adjusted to a maximum of 19 Inches to a minimum of 4 inches.
The slate frames are made from Oak and Beach
Slate frames are made from 4 wooden bars:
Two horizontal bars and Two vertical side bars
The traditional slate frame has fabric tape attached to the horizontal bars, and your fabric is attached using stitching or lacing, tension is then created by tightening the side bars and side lacing. This creates a drum-tight working surface which will remain stable throughout your project.
